The “necessary” tutorials introduced some of the underlying concepts such as doctype, DOM, and XML “well-formdness” of an XHTML document. Validation was used extensivly. Singnificantly, the HTML content was developed and kept seperate from the CSS development. This is important for any modern web development and we shall continue with this practice in the following exercises. The general HTML syntax was introduced and a practical structured HTML document was discussed followed by examples of common HTML elements.

The aim in the following tutorials is to complete the tour of HTML5 elements.
